Why am I running for Mayor?

I have chosen to run for Mayor of Langley because I am deeply passionate about our community and committed to its continued growth and prosperity. After living here for 35 years and actively serving on the city council for 8 years, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and opportunities that we face.

My goal as Mayor is to lead with a vision that balances responsible growth with the preservation of our unique character. I believe in fostering a vibrant and inclusive community that welcomes diversity, where everyone has equal access to opportunities and services. I am dedicated to creating an environment where businesses can thrive, generating jobs and economic stability for our residents.

Transparency and community engagement are core values that guide my approach. I firmly believe that the best decisions are made collectively, with input from everyone in our community. I will actively listen to the concerns and ideas of the people, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.

Preserving our natural resources and enhancing sustainability are priorities close to my heart. I am committed to implementing environmentally responsible practices, protecting our green spaces, and embracing renewable energy options to create a more sustainable future for generations to come.

My experience as a City Council Member for 8 years, Chair of the Planning Advisory Board for 4, and as the Chair of the Civil Service Board for 2, have provided me with a deep understanding of the intricacies of our local government and the importance of sound decision-making. I bring a proven track record of collaboration, integrity, and effective leadership.

By electing me as Mayor, you are choosing a dedicated advocate who will work tirelessly to make Langley a place where everyone can thrive. I am driven by a genuine desire to serve our community and create positive change. Together, let’s build a future that we can all be proud of.
