Civil Service Board

Chair of the Langley Civil Service Board 2018-2019

As Chair of the Civil Service Board, I assumed a vital role in ensuring the effective and ethical functioning of our local law enforcement. My responsibilities extended from evaluating candidates to initiating disciplinary actions when necessary.

Selecting Full-Time Officers

I played a crucial role in evaluating candidates to fulfill our need for full-time officers. By carefully scrutinizing qualifications, character, and commitment to community service, I contributed to the selection of officers dedicated to upholding the values of Langley.

Initiating Disciplinary Action

Recognizing the importance of accountability, I took the initiative to begin disciplinary action against a former Chief. Upholding the principles of transparency and fairness, this action was a testament to my commitment to maintaining the highest standards within our law enforcement community.

Collaborative Leadership for Chief Selection

Working closely with the Mayor and community stakeholders, I participated in the selection process for a new Chief of Police. This collaborative effort ensured that the appointment aligned with the values and needs of our community, fostering trust and transparency in law enforcement leadership.

My role as Chair of the Civil Service Board reflects not only my dedication to maintaining the integrity of our law enforcement but also my commitment to collaborative and transparent decision-making.
