Cemetery Board

Current Council Contact for the Langley Woodmen’s Cemetery Board (since 2020)

In my current role as the Council Contact for the Langley Woodmen’s Cemetery Board, I’ve been dedicated to preserving the heritage and ensuring the vitality of this cherished piece of our community.

Collaborative Efforts for Cemetery Enhancement

Working closely with the dedicated members of the Board, we’ve undertaken a range of initiatives to address the needs of the cemetery. This includes exploring options for new graves, improving wayfinding, repairing damages to the entrance and other structures, and adding historical markers to enrich the site’s historical context.

Enhancing Site Ownership Rules

Recognizing the importance of clear guidelines, we’ve worked diligently on refining and implementing better rules for site owners. This ensures a more organized and respectful use of the cemetery space, contributing to its long-term sustainability.

Addressing Structural Issues at the Ash Garden

A significant focus has been on the structural issues found in memorial stones at the ash garden. By addressing these challenges head-on, we’re not only preserving the integrity of the site but also ensuring a respectful and peaceful resting place for our loved ones.

Rewarding Dedication of Board Members

The journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Witnessing the dedication of the Board members to the preservation of this vital asset has been truly inspiring. It’s a testament to the importance of community involvement and shared responsibility.

My experience as the Council Contact for the Langley Woodmen’s Cemetery Board reflects a commitment to preserving our history, fostering community engagement, and ensuring that the cemetery remains a place of reverence and value for the City of Langley.
